Sausage goulash (Burtgulas)

25 mins
? 4-5 portions
Recipe from: My mum

Ingredients:
3 tbsp oil
1 onion
2 tsp paprika (I add 1 tbsp of hot paprika as well)
pepper
4 potatoes
200g of Polish style sausage (the one you can eat raw)
1 tbsp majoram
2 tbsp plain flour with water to thicken it up
salt
bread to serve with

Chop the onion and fry for few minutes until soft in a large pot. Put the spices in and drop in chopped potatoes. Pour water over so all the potatoes are covered and cook until they’re done. Meanwhile, chop the sausage and you can either just put it in with the potatoes or fry them first to make them crispy. Add majoram in and when the potatoes are done mix flour in a cup of water and pour in the pot. Cook for another 2 mins to thicken up. You can eat it either on its own or with bread.

Price: £4 (based on Sainsbury’s prices)
Notes: Quick easy and hearty dinner.
